If ordinary steel pipe is selected, there will be a big error between the ordered steel pipe and the received steel pipe. Even in different parts of the steel pipe, the inner diameter or wall thickness will vary greatly. But precision tubes are different. This kind of steel pipe has very strict requirements for any part of the pipe. Although it is not possible to use precision pipe, all dimensions of steel pipe fully meet the standard. However, the precision tube can control the error in a very small range. Normally, this error will not exceed two standard units, which is sufficient for most industries.
As we all know, if the steel pipe is placed in the open air for a long time or there is any friction, the oxide layer on the surface of stainless steel will be damaged, and then it will be oxidized and rusted in the humid air. Therefore, the steel pipe should be placed in a sealed place as far as possible. However, precision tube has unique advantages, because its surface is not easy to be oxidized, which is closely related to the raw materials of precision tube.
The precision tube relies on the very thin, solid, dense and stable chromium rich oxide film (protective film) formed on the surface to prevent oxygen atoms from permeating and oxidizing continuously, so as to obtain the ability of anti-corrosion. The precision steel tube shows that the corrosion resistance of the transition film is weak due to the self-excited reaction, which will form a pitting corrosion reaction, produce pores, form a strong corrosion liquid with the nearby chloride ions, and accelerate the corrosion rate. In addition, intergranular corrosion cracks in stainless steel will destroy the transition film on the surface of stainless steel plate. Therefore, a certain degree of cleaning and maintenance should be carried out on the surface of the precision steel pipe to better extend the service life of the precision pipe.
